Here are projects and services which are planned to connect to the Bibliographic Knowledge Network (BKN):
Participating Project:
- ariw: Academic & Research Institutions in the World, Public list of universities and research centers in the world, organized by country.
- AuthorClaim registration service, Aims to link scholars with the records about the works that they have written, in bibliographic databases listed in Author Claim Sources
- Lemon8-XML, Web-based application designed to make it easier for non-technical editors and authors to convert scholarly papers from typical word-processor editing formats such as MS-Word .DOC and OpenOffice .ODT, into XML-based publishing layout formats.
- MathPeople, Math People leverages multiple sources of name data to provide a distributed name authority system for people in the mathematical sciences. This makes it possible to aggregate data about the same person from many different data sources.
- The Open Library, This project aims to provide a web page for every book ever published, with links to libraries, bookstores, and online resources for accessing the book.
- The R Project for Statistical Computing, A free software environment for statistical computing and graphics. It compiles and runs on a wide variety of UNIX platforms, Windows and MacOS.
Participating Service:
- BibServer, The BibServer software system, written in Python, provides fully automated multifaceted displays of bibliographic data sets of up to about 1000 items.
- Current Index to Statistics (CIS), The Current Index to Statistics is a bibliographic index to publications in statistics, probability, and related fields. It indexes the entire contents of over 160"core journals", in most cases from 1975 (or first issue if later) to the current end year, and pre-1975 coverage for some; selected articles with statistical content since 1975 from about 1200 additional journals (cumulatively) in related fields, and about 11,000 books in statistics published since 1975.
- Freebase, An open, shared database which allows collaborative definition and maintenance of structured information of the world's knowledge, supporting a community with the explicit goal of normalizing and cross-linking disparate data sets.
- IDEAS: Economics and Finance Research, Largest bibliographic database dedicated to Economics and available freely on the Internet. Over 600,000 items of research can be browsed or searched, and over 500,000 can be downloaded in full text
- IMS Biographies--Bibliographies, The aim of this project is to aggregate and maintain high quality biographical and bibliographical data about prominent people in probability, statistics and related fields.
- IMS Groups, The IMS Groups Program is intended to promote professional communication amongst groups of scholars with common interests, which might be region-specific, subject-specific, or both, or otherwise defined.
- Open Archives Harvester, Free metadata indexing system to facilitate the indexing of research and scholarship.
- Open Conference Systems, Free Web publishing tool to create a complete Web presence for a scholarly conference.
- Open Journal Systems, Free journal management and publishing system.
- Public Knowledge Project, PKP is a research and development initiative directed toward improving the scholarly and public quality of academic research through the development of innovative online publishing and knowledge-sharing environments.
- The Dataverse Network Project (DVN), Via web application software, data citation standards, and statistical methods, the Dataverse Network project increases scholarly recognition and distributed control for authors, journals, archives, teachers, and others who produce or organize data; facilitates data access and analysis for researchers and students; and ensures long-term preservation whether or not the data are in the public domain.
- Universal Education Search, Aims to build a scalable, extensible, federated search for all educational resources on the web.
- Zentralblatt Math (ZMATH), Database containing more than 2.0 million bibliographic entries drawn from the ZMATH Serials Database.
Participating Publications:
- Journal of Statistical Software, An open access electronic journal which publishes articles, algorithms, code snippets, book and software reviews. Sponsored by American Statistical Association (ASA).
- Springer Encyclopedia of Mathematics, A comprehensive English-language graduate-level reference work in the field of mathematics today. This online edition comprises more than 8,000 entries and illuminates nearly 50,000 notions in mathematics.
